The Power Plant, Toronto
rope, wire, hooks, glass
net – approx. 16’ x 14’
installation dimensions vary
In this sculpture, the handwoven net visually maps out the surface of water - which is a very ephemeral condition as it is always in flux. For this reason the installation of this piece is also variable - it is never installed the same way as it responds to the space. The hovering shoes reference the suspension of disbelief and a state of vulnerability.
